The Sweden-based, global renal care provider Diaverum is delighted to announce its further expansion into Greece, having entered into a strategic partnership with the renowned provider, Bioiatriki Healthcare Group.

Earlier this year, Diaverum announced its vision to transform renal care in Greece. Having already acquired six clinics, the company has established a significant presence in the country, positioning itself as the third-largest provider in the dialysis care sector.

Signed on 26 November, the partnership initiates a ten-year collaboration between Diaverum and Bioiatriki Healthcare Group, a leader in private healthcare services in Greece and the wider Mediterranean region, with over 40 years of experience in the sector.

The collaboration involves the implementation of Diaverum’s Care Delivery Model, supported by industry-leading, state-of-the-art technologies and an AI digital suite at the Group’s hospitals, Bioclinic Athens and Bioclinic Thessaloniki. This initiative aims to provide life-enhancing renal care at these hospitals, underpinned by digital technologies and world-class clinical and medical standards.

Notably, this partnership not only expands Diaverum's operational reach but also marks its entry into Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city.

Commenting on the significance of the agreement, Dimitris Moulavasilis, Diaverum CEO, said: “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to transform renal care in Greece. By combining Diaverum’s excellence in care standards and expertise in AI-enabled, personalised renal care, with BIOIATRIKI’s extensive outpatient network, advanced diagnostic services, & strong local presence, we aim to deliver transformative solutions for dialysis patients, enabling access to world-class care”.

George Spanos, Bioiatriki’s CEO, commented: “We are delighted to have entered into this agreement with Diaverum, a global leader in quality renal care services and a company that has swiftly established a strong and dynamic presence in Greece's renal care sector. This partnership reflects Bioiatriki's 50-year commitment to delivering world-class healthcare services to our patients around Greece.”

Aris Bailan, Regional Director of Business Development for Europe & LatAm added: “We are thrilled to be entering this agreement with Bioiatriki, which is driven by our shared vision to transform dialysis care. In combining Bioiatriki’s strong local presence with Diaverum’s global expertise and innovative digital technologies, we look forward to empowering patients to live fulfilling lives, together”.
